Third Grade Author Visit, Jacqueline Woodson

Dear Third Graders and Parents,

BrownGirlDreaming-4medals-3001We are thrilled to bring renowned, award-winning author, Jacqueline Woodson, to our auditorium on Friday, June 2nd to speak to our 3rd grade classes. Jacqueline will talk about her body of work and her journey to becoming a writer.

Please note, this talk is during school hours and is for the students only but we want to let parents know so they can help their kids get familiar with Jacqueline’s books before the visit.

Jacqueline Woodson is the author of several books for children, young adults and adults. She is best known for Miracle’s Boys, which won the Coretta Scott King Award in 2001, and her National Book Award- and Newbery Honor-winning titles Brown Girl Dreaming, After Tupac & D Foster, and Feathers, as well as the picture books Each Kindness and Show Way. For her lifetime contribution as a children’s writer, Woodson won the Margaret Edwards Award in 2005. She lives in Brooklyn.
